Season 7 Ep.1: "Love Blactually" References

  • The title itself is a spoof of the movie Love Actually.
  • During a costume party, Peter is dressed up as Laura Bush, Lois is the guy who was killed by Laura Bush in a wreck, both Brian and Stewie are Snoopy, Quagmire is Napoleon Dynamite (and is wearing a "Vote for Pedro" shirt), and Cleveland is Charlie Chaplin. Quagmire thinks Joe is dressed up as FDR, Peter mistakes him for Stephen Hawking at the beach and Quagmire calls him crippled Magnum P.I. Actually, Joe is dressed down as Olympic swimmer Mark Spitz.
  • As Snoopy, Brian does the Snoopy dance.
  • At the costume party, Brian is introduced to a woman, that he thinks is dressed like a Freddy Kruger victim.
  • Peter punches Brian in the stomach thinking he can't feel it. Brian reminds him that it's Houdini who can't feel punches in the stomach.
  • While being Snoopy, Brian is followed through the house by Woodchuck (also a character from "Peanuts").
  • While in the bookstore, we can see a book with Darth Vader on the cover in the background.
  • Stewie picks up a book in which Horton hears domestic violence (a spoof of Dr. Suess' "Horton Hears a Who").
  • Brian picks up a book of Richard Dawkins, a popular British ethologist, evolutionary biologist and science writer.
  • Brian notices while watching a movie that it had to be a "touching" film since Robin Williams was wearing a beard.
  • While Cleveland is having sex with Carolyn, he exclaims "Boom goes the dynamite." This quote is taken directly from a viral YouTube video in which a Ball State student sportscaster says the same phrase during a score at a basketball match.
  • Peter thinks Cleveland's former wife is called Jennifer Hudson, Weezie, or Florida (the latter two names of which are from "The Jeffersons" even though Florida refers to Florence).
  • When Brian is lying, his snout gets long just like Pinocchio's nose.
  • In a flashback, Cyrano de Bergerac is exposed as being anti-semitic.
  • Quagmire shows off his privates by saying Apache Penis EE-NAY-CHUCK, spoofing Apache Chief of the "Super Friends."
  • A naked Quagmire alludes to the famous 1837 fairy tale The Emperor's New Clothes.

The Peanuts bird is Woodstock, not Woodchuck. This is a great site though.

Also, Florida was the African-American matriarch on Good Times, so he's not talking about Florence on the Jeffersons.
